Harvest Festival

27th September 2021

Harvest Festival is a traditional annual event held in many countries to celebrate the successful gathering of the year’s crops. It is a time for feasting, sharing food with those in need, and giving thanks.

Harvest Festival in the UK takes place on the Sunday nearest to the appearance of the harvest moon (the full moon that appears closest to the autumn equinox). In 2021, this is 3 October.

The Foodbank often receives a particularly large number of donations during the Harvest Festival season. Such generosity is, as always, very much appreciated. If you are intending to make a donation this season, you may find the attached poster useful. It lists out items we particularly need at this time. We would like to thank all our donors for their support – providing so many Woking people with emergency food supplies would not be possible without you!
