Earlier this week, we marked 10 years since the opening of the Woking Foodbank. Our fantastic founder Alison is still leading us today, and over a dozen individuals who started it up with her in 2014 are still volunteering for us. We are so grateful for their dedication and passion!
During that time we have processed over 17,000 referrals and provided enough food for nearly 40,000 adults and children in Woking.
We have collected 434,738.84kg of stock and given out 423,921.6kg.
An incredible achievement – and all thanks to our amazing team of volunteers and supporters. Thank you to everyone who has lugged heavy crates around at the warehouse, packed bags, supported us at one of our distribution centres, sat with a distressed visitor, stood in the cold to collect donations at supermarkets, delivered food parcels during Covid at personal risk, organised rotas and everything else. We couldn’t have done it without you!!
